Making research engaging and accessible
Discovering and understanding sustainability research is challenging, especially when the business of everyday life gets in the way. PopSci makes exploring environment-related topics easy and engaging by transforming research into digestible content you can understand — empowering you to connect with the science, spark impactful conversations, and inspire meaningful change.

Mission
Our mission is to make research engaging and accessible for students. At PopSci, we believe sustainability lies at the intersection between many fields, approaching sustainability through a holistic, multidisciplinary lens. Our focus areas are guided by our members' interests, with topics ranging from traditional science to social science. We explore topics including, but not limited to: ecology, biodiversity, conservation, natural resources, biology, sustainable management, green chemistry, ethics in sustainability and many more.
In January of 2026, PopSci was officially added to the McGill Research and Sustainability Network's constitution, formalizing us as the research branch of RSN. We are incredibly grateful to be part of a community of student organizations at McGill that connects the sustainability community and creates research and networking opportunities for students across all faculties.
